Robola Wine Festival

One of the most important celebrations of Kefalonia, the Robola Wine Festival, is organized every year in Fragata on the first weekend after August 15th. The first organization of the Robola Wine Festival took place in 1978 and aimed at demonstrating the local Robola grape variety. Nowadays the Festival has developed into a two-day festival of music, gastronomy and celebration at the central square of Fragata. Dozens of tables are set to provide local dishes (goat stew, local feta cheese) which complement excellently the Robola, the local white wine of exceptional quality with a Designation of Origin. The famous exporting product is directly related to its history and culture. The festival is organized under the auspices of the local association “Mermigas” and lasts until the early hours of the morning!
