Tinos, the island of Virgin Mary

Crowds of pilgrims arrive each year at Tinos to honor the Holy Icon of Evangelistria. Leaving the tourist city behind him, the visitor realizes that the beautiful island of Cyclades is decorated by hundreds of white country churches, modest and well-cared churches and monasteries with important history, like the Monastery of Kechrovounio, where St Pelagia was a nun, and whose vision helped to find the Holy Icon of Virgin Mary on the 30th of January 1823.
