Flavors from the Lagoon

The lagoon of Messolonghi is one of the famous fish farming locations in Greece. Trouts, mullets, eels and sea bass live there and you can try them at one of the restaurants of the area, cooked according to local recipes.

However, the most famous of its products is the fish roe, the expensive delicacy produced by the female mullet and manufactured here according to the traditional process that the fishermen of the lagoon pass from generation to generation. It is considered to be of exceptional quality and stands out for its special flavor, which is due to the composition of the flora of the lagoon.
