Sunset in Oia

You can enjoy the most famous sunset of Greece on the northern “Upper Side” of Santorini, at the beautiful Oia. The summer afternoons hundreds of tourists watch speechless the unique spectacle of the enchanting sunset at the caldera, the moment when the sun plunges into the sea.

The Cycladic town of the exceptional beauty is the first preserved Greek settlement. At the settlement which possesses modern infrastructures of the highest level, we encounter really beautiful and picturesque churches. Among them Panagia Platsani, Eisodia Theotokou - metochi of the Monastery of Hozoviotissa in Amorgos - and the older church of Agia Matrona, in Finikia. Interesting is the Naval Maritime Museum of Oia, a mansion where the modern maritime history of Santorini is presented.
