Rare evidence of cultural heritage, directly related to important stages of human history, the World Heritage Monuments of UNESCO have ecumenical value and constitute part of the humanity’s common heritage. Seventeen monuments all over Greece have been included in the List of World Heritage Sites of UNESCO. Among them are Early Christian and Byzantine monuments, testimonies to an invaluable heritage and a tremendously long history.
