South Aegean Islands

Traditional Cycladic settlements bathed in the Aegean sunlight and rocky landscapes carved by the winds and the sea are adorned by hundreds of all white small churches that have been constructed with respect to the Cycladic austere architecture but at the same time they elevate the religiousness of the place and the deep faith of the local people. Here we meet some of the most important pilgrimages of Greece, for example Panagia of Tinos and Panagia Ekatontapiliani in Paros, but also Byzantine monasteries with special history and architecture.
