Olive and Olive Oil Festival in Sellasia

The village of Sellasia, just north of Sparta, is known in the last years for the famous festival that is dedicated to the famous local products, olive oil and the olives. It takes place every year in the beginning of August and gathers a lot of people, who come from all over Greece to meet the producers and businessmen of Laconia and try their products.

Traditionally the events last for three days and include an exhibition  of products, discussions, photographic exhibitions, documentaries, music and dance events and, of course, excellent food with emphasis on olive oil and olives.
