Walking at the mansions of Siatista

In Siatista you encounter the most impressive and rich mansions of Macedonia, examples of the glory and wealth of the city that was developed along the commercial road that towards the Balkans and the West. Most of them are built in the 18th and the 19th century and belonged to wealthy merchants of the area.

Characteristic creations of the local architectural tradition, are two-storeyed, built with stones, richly decorated in their interior with impressive wall paintings and wood carvings, with elegant fireplaces and elaborate furniture. They stand impressively among the modern buildings and wait for the visitor of the city to discover them walking its alleys, left and right of the central road.
