Hiking at Vouraikos

The gorge of Vouraikos provides a unique life experience to the visitor. According to mythology Hercules opened this path in order to meet his beloved Voura.

The gorge of Vouraikos offers hiking routes of various degrees of difficulty, in a lovely landscape with many alternations: trees, wild flowers, tranquil running waters, steep rocks, tunnels and wooden bridges that stand here many decades. Hiking at Vouraikos, next to the rails of Odontotos, the “crossing of the gorge” as it is called, has become very popular. Each year, on the second Sunday of May, they organize the “Crossing of Vouraikos” with the participation of thousands of hikers and nature lovers from every corner of the country.
