Temple of Poseidon in Kionia

Apart from the sites of great religious significance in Tinos, the visitor has also the opportunity to admire important archaeological findings and archaeological sites. One of them is located at the village Kionia, where you can see the ruins of the ancient temple of Poseidon and his wife Amphitrite. It is a remarkable temple of the Hellenistic Period (3rd century BC) which was one of the main places of worship of the Cyclades. At the same area they have also unearthed Roman baths and statues of the Imperial Period.
