The renovated mansion of the Kourtidis family in Soufli houses form 1990, the extremely interesting Silk Museum of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation.
Sericulture was the city's main source of wealth from the 19th until the middle of the 20th century and made it one of the main silk production areas in Greece. Through numerous exhibits visitors can draw useful information regarding the history of silk, the stages of the breeding of silkworms and the final processing, which leads to the production of the famous silk of Soufli, which is available at the city's market.
