The Ecclesiastical Museum of Alexandroupolis is housed at the Leontarideio School which is located next to the Metropolis.
It was founded in 1976 by the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis (now Metropolitan of Thessaloniki) Anthimos. It hosts a rich collection of ecclesiastical objects from the 15th to the 19th century which have been collected from churches and monasteries of the ecclesiastical region of the Metropolis of Alexandroupolis, but also from the donations of various individuals. Important portable icons, of exceptional artistry, form the core of the museum's collection and it is certainly something worth seeing.
