The ancient Roman baths of Traianoupoli are located just 14 km from the city of Alexandroupoli and are famous for their therapeutic qualities. Even today, however, the baths are being visited not only by the local population, but also from tourists from the wider area of the Balkans.
The therapeutic waters of the area are well known since they are rich in minerals, which are appropriate for the treatment of rheumatism, slip spinal disc, but also diseases of the liver and the kidneys.
In Traianoupoli one can still see some of the old buildings of the Roman Baths, which look similar to the Turkish baths. At the area there is tourist infrastructure for those who wish to visit it, either for reasons of health or for relaxation and recreation.
