Archaeological Museum of Patras

The jewel of the capital of Achaea is the modern Archaeological Museum of Patras, on the northern entrance of the city. In a modern green building with an area of 3,000 m², structured with a contemporary museological perception and worthy of the city’s history, the 1,300 exhibits narrate the historical route of Patras.

There are three thematic units that constitute the permanent collection and develop respectively in three halls. The first unit deals with private life, the second with state life and the third, the Necropolis hall, with death. The Museum includes various halls: temporary exhibitions, multimedia and virtual reality, educational programmes halls and a small amphitheater.
