The cave of Kastania, which is of rare beauty, is located near the village with the same name, on the eastern side of the Peloponnese, to the south of Monemvasia. Its interior is filled with stalactites and stalagmites, in unique combinations of colors and shapes, which place it among the best of Europe. Its length reaches 1.500 m., from which the visitor can see approximately the 500 m., in a well-shaped, easy route.
Outside there is a refreshment stand, while at a small distance survives the small Byzantine church of Agios Andreas, and this is the reason why the cave is also known as the cave of Agios Andreas.
