One of the most important sites in Achaea is the Cave of the Lakes at the village of Kastria, just 17 kilometers from the centre of the historic city of Kalavrita. This magnificent creation of nature possesses thirteen small or larger lakes, which succeed one another and extend on three levels. The visitor can admire the unique stalactite formations that resemble waterfalls under the “water melody” created by the sound of water drops falling. Today you can visit a section of 500 meters using artificial bridges.
