On the northwestern edge of Orchomenos, at a beautiful location, with rich vegetation and crystal running waters, are the Charites Springs, that is the springs of river Melan. Here there are fish farms that produce the famous smoked trout of Orchomenos, a special dish famous all over Europe.
The trouts are in their natural environment and are smoked with oak wood. One reaches the springs from the centre of Orchomenos either on foot or by car, following the road that starts from Panagia Skripou and meeting along her way municipal refreshment stand and the picturesque small church of Zoodochos Pigi.
