The extremely interesting Archaeological Museum of Ioannina started its operation in 1970.
Over 3,000 unique exhibits from the area of Epirus are exhibited in an area of 1,200m2, covering different periods of time, from Prehistoric times to the Late Roman Period. The findings from the sanctuary of Dodona occupy a special place at the museum showcases, due to its importance as one of the main oracles of the ancient Greek world.
The aim of the exhibition is to demonstrate successfully the various aspects of private and public life of ancient Greeks living in Epirus.
