The Government House is a simple, two-storied, stone building, with a red tile roof, which is near the Metropolis at the centre of the city. It is a very important building for Greek history, since it housed the first government of free Greece and at the same time the simple residence of the first Governor, Ioannis Kapodistrias. On the first floor, the first room was the office and the residence of the Governor, while on the ground floor they housed government services.
