At the picturesque Megalo Chorio, just 14 kilometers far from Karpenisi, is one of the most remarkable museums of Evrytania, the Historical and Folklore Museum.
It is housed in a three-storied stone traditional building and at its halls it hosts items and pots of everyday use, local costumes, embroideries and textiles, the equipment of traditional professions that used to exist in the area but not anymore, photographs, documents and folk art works. Among the most important exhibits are the clock from the bell tower of the village, where one can still see the marks of the Germans’ bullets during the German occupation.
