The exceptionally interesting Archaeological Museum hosts findings that come exclusively from Corfu and reveal the cultural significance of the island to the ancient world throughout the centuries.
The Museum’s exhibitions include sculptures, bronze statuettes, metal armors and findings that came from ancient cemeteries. At the museum the impressive ”Lion of Menecratus” is exhibited, which dated from the end of the 7th century BC, as well as the “pediment of Gorgo”, which decorated the western side of the great Doric temple of Artemis at Agioi Theodoroi.
