At one of the oldest museums of the country is housed the Archaeological Museum of Epidaurus, which is built inside the archaeological area of the Asclepieion. The sanctuary of Asclepius in Epidaurus was the most important centre for the worship of the specific god in the whole ancient Greek world.
The museum hosts very important findings from the nearby archaeological site, which cover a period from the ancient times to the Roman period.
