Memories from the important Battle at Sarantaporo, during the Balkan Wars (1912), come to life in the Museum of the Battle of Sarantaporo. It was built in 1972 to honor the fallen soldiers and is located 20 km far from Elassona. The Military Museum hosts a collection of relics, official documents, photographs, uniforms, various items and weapons from the victorious battle, which is described with audiovisual material. The busts of the Commander-in-Chief and Successor to the Throne Constantine and the Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos, together with a marble slate with the names of the Greek Divisions that participated in the battle, dominate at the entrance of the main building, which at that time was the headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief. The two buildings and another building, which was a stable and a horseshoe workshop, constitute the building complex of the Museum.
