Tripi - Kaiadas

Just ten kilometers from the city of Sparta is the traditional village of Tripi which is lost in the vegetation of Mount Taygetus. Outside the village one can visit the valley of Kaiadas, where according to the tradition the ancient Spartans threw the invalid infants in a primitive although peculiar effort in eugenics. They also threw the traitors there, like the king of Sparta Pausanias or the revolted slaves of Messinia.

At a close distance the visitor can admire the gorge of Lagada, where there is a Climbing Park.
