The remarkable Archaeological Museum of Nafplio is housed at a two-storey building of Syntagma square.
The approximately 2,000 exhibits come from the wider area of Argolis and cover a period of time that extends from the Paleolithic period to the Late Antiquity.
Among the most interesting exhibits are the prehistoric findings from the cave in Franchthi, the Panathenaic amphora, which is transferred every four years at the city that hosts the Olympic Games, the bronze armor from the area of Dendra and the figurine of the “Lord of Assini”.
