Walk on the beach

One of the busiest and beloved locations of Thessaloniki is its beach, at the coast of the Thermaic Gulf. Starting from the port one can walk for approximately five kilometers next to the sea, with a view to Olympus mountain, exploring some of the most important sites of the city. On the beach we can see the whole history of Thessaloniki, from the Byzantine port, to the Ottoman port, at Aristotelous square, at the White Tower, and from there to the new beach which is shaped with parks, cafes, courts, modern thematic gardens, the statue of Alexander the Great, the famous “Umbrellas” by Giorgos Zoggolopoulos, and, finally, the impressive Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
