The Archaeological Museum is one of the most beautiful in Thessaloniki and one of the most important in Greece. Its collections include findings from excavations from the whole of Macedonia, and cover the whole antiquity, from the Neolithic period until the end of the Roman years.
The exhibition units, original and interesting, travel the visitor to the history of Macedonia through the centuries and provide him with the opportunity to learn about the everyday life, intellectual creation, and the rich material culture of its people. Since 1962 the museum has been housed at a modern building with an internal yard, work of the famous architect Patroklos Karadinos.
