Folk Art and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia - Thrace

he museum, one of the most interesting in Thessaloniki, is located at the centre of the city, at Vassilissis Olga Avenue, at the beautiful district of Exoches. It was founded in 1970 and its exhibits mainly come from Macedonia and Thrace in the 19th^υ and the beginning of the 20th century.

Its collections include local costumes, textiles, metalworking and woodcarving, guns, music instruments, figures from shadow play, items that enlighten the everyday activities and the tradition of the residents of north Greece. It is housed at the impressive mansion of the Jewish family of Modiano, which was designed by the architect Eli Modiano in 1906, and later it was used as a Government House.
