National Garden

The National Garden, the largest green oasis at the centre of Athens, is suitable for cool walks among the bustling avenues.

It was created in 1839 and was the garden of the palace of the first kings of Greece, which today houses the Parliament. Throughout its area they have planted approximately five hundred species of trees and plants from all over the world, which cannot be seen elsewhere in Greece. In the garden there are lakes with ducks, sculptures, am original sundial, scattered antiquities, a botanical museum, a playground, a children’s library and the picturesque traditional café.

It is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
