The beautiful marina of Flisvos, at Palaio Faliro, is an ideal place for walking and relaxing by the sea. On its edge, next to the modern luxurious vessels and some characteristic old ships, one can admire one of the most glorious ships of modern Greek history, the legendary warship “Georgios Averof”, which participated in important naval battles during the Balkan Wars and remained active until World War II. Nowadays, it operates as a museum and inside it there are, among others, the cabin of the captain, the sailors’ quarters, the chapel of Agios Nikolaos, and the kitchens.
