A Walk at Monastiraki
One of the most picturesque and busiest locations in Athens is Monastiraki, the area around the church of the Pantanassa, the only building surviving from the monastery that was located here in the years of the Turkish occupation.
Throughout the area one can walk at narrow, irregular streets, among small buildings that show us the image of Athens some centuries ago. Walking at the numerous small stores or the benches of the street vendors, with the huge variety of merchandise, especially on Sunday morning, is a unique experience and a temptation that is hard to resist.
