One of the largest and most luxurious hotels in Athens that dominates at Syntagma Square from the 19th century and maintains till the present day the same aura of grandeur and splendor.
It is a point of reference for the city, there was the place where important people from all over the world stayed and has been related to important events of modern Greek history. It was built in 1842 according to plans of the Danish architect Theophil Hansen as a private residence, and in 1874 it was remodeled to operate as a hotel by Greek businessmen who wanted to transfer to the city the French cosmopolitan atmosphere, while in the decade of 1950s it was essentially reconstructed, maintain however, its initial style.
