Walking under the shadow of the Acropolis
One of the most impressive pedestrian zone in Athens and one of the largest in Europe connects the important archaeological sites around the Acropolis. Dionysiou Aeropagitou street starts from Amalias Avenue, opposite Hadrian’s Gate, connects with Apostolou Pavlou street, which ends up at the area of Thiseio.
As one walks along it, he can see the rock of the Acropolis on the one side and on the other some of the most beautiful buildings of the city, neo-classical and more modern, which date from the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century and record the bourgeois atmosphere of the area.
