Performances of the theatre “Dora Stratou”
Unique of its kind is the Greek Dances Theatre “Dora Stratou”, which operates since 1953 and preserves the history of the Greek traditional dance. At a special shaped area opposite of the Acropolis, on the one side of the hill of Philopappos, the music and dance group of Dora Stratou presents dances from various areas of Greece, in performances which are unforgettable to those who see them. The dancers wear authentic, handmade, museum costumes, while the musicians use traditional music instruments and the setting is created especially for this area by the great Greek painter Spyros Vasileiou.
